Throw in some chips and dip along with a few ice cold cervesas and you got yourself a film day fiesta!

According to a former Apple executive, Apple plans to “blow Netflix and all those other guys away” by bundling Apple TV + iTunes inside physical television sets. The source that opened up to DailyTech, continues to say that Apple is teaming up with a major supplier (some say Samsung Electronics), to provide the physical televisions, which will be rebranded as Apple iOS driven television sets.

As we all know this rumor has been around for a while now. If this source is to be believed, a fall launch was in order (potentially coinciding with the iPhone launch?), but the product could launch as late as next year, given Apple’s “high standards”.

This would definitely be Apple’s countermove to Google’s “Internet TV” project it has with Sony. Especially since it has already been confirmed that full access to third-party apps is coming to Google TV.

The new iOS-driven televisions are expected to have third-party apps as well.

Let’s hope the alleged Apple TV display set is not just another hobby.

1. 1080p For Apple TV 3
According to 9to5Mac, Apple is preparing their next-generation iOS 5 devices to support play back and sync of 1080p content. Lets hope the next Apple TV will run on iOS 5.

2. Apple TV: Next Big Game Console
With the release of Firemint’s Real Racing 2 HD, multiple sources have hinted that the Apple TV will become the next big game console. Real Racing 2 HD allows you the ability to play the game on your big screen without a cable, while your iPad 2 displays racing telemetry in real-time. This looks promising for other game companies to develop games with similar playing experience.

As reported by Reuters, looks like Apple is on the verge of signing a deal with CBS and Disney. Before you know it, we might be saying goodbye to the nice folks at the cable companies!

The planned subscription service by Apple may offer television shows from major networks for a monthly fee, which could significantly alter the television business, the paper said, citing people familiar with the matter.

AppleInsider is reporting on a patent filing from Apple that describes a Wii-like remote control.  The patent was filed in May of 2008 describes how the remote could be used to interact with many applications including  an illustration application and a media application which displays the Apple TV logo.  Now, is Apple actually developing this remote for its inclusion with a new Apple TV? I’ll leave that for all of you to decide.

Rumors have resurfaced about a potential Apple-branded HDTV. Presumably a widescreen flatscreen TV with built-in AppleTV software. Apple’s partnership with LG could mean more than just small screens for the laptops and desktops. The same rumors are reinforcing the DVR functionality which Apple has recently filed patents for.

Jason Calacanis of Malhalo.com has been predicting this since last October. It does seem a strange possibility since TVs are such a competitive market but a few years ago no one would have predicted the iPhone and its success in a competitive market.

So, if Apple builds a TV, what will they call it? Apple TV is taken already….
