Day one has come and gone and I feel as though I spent most of it waiting to get into Hall H. For those of you not familiar with Comic-Con, Hall H is where all the big presentations happen. Today the big presentations were a Disney 3D panel, New Moon, and James Cameron’s Avatar.
I missed most of the Disney 3D presentation outside of the hall inline, but I did catch the Tron 2 or Tron Legacy presentation. Not only that I got a good chunk of that on video which you can see below. I apologize for the quality as I had just entered the hall and I didn’t have the best view. Needless to say I was very excited by what I saw for this movie. There was no actual trailer for the movie, but there was a good chunk of concept art shown which is what I have below.
After the Tron presentation I sat through the New Moon panel and the thousands of screaming teenage girls. Fun. But it was all worth it when James Cameron brought 20 minutes worth of footage to show the 6,000 attendees. The best way I can describe the awesome look of Avatar is that it’s a cross between a Discover Channel nature special and Halo. The CGI looked awesome with all the footage being in 3D. I have some video from this presentation as well, and all though I don’t have any actual footage I do have a clip of James Cameron presenting the 20 minutes worth of footage. Enjoy.
