Update 2- MacRumors has a great rundown of all the new Apple TV 2.4 features. And don’t forget Boxee users, if you want to updated you’ll have to reinstall Boxee, as these updates usually wipe out Boxee.
Update – Well that was quick. Apparently Apple TV 2.4 update is now available which adds iPhone remote app gesture support.
[ Boxee ] PC users rejoice, Boxee is now available as a public alpha for Windows. The good folks over at Boxee yesterday released an update to their media center software. Along with the Windows alpha, a partnership with Major League Baseball was announced which will offer MLB.TV Premium to Boxee users. The interface for Boxee was also updated to be more streamlined. In the new version you will see Applications, which has all the Internet content and Local Media, which lists all the media on the computer and the local network. Those are just some of the updates, to read about all of the new features and content coming to Boxee head on over to the Boxee Blog.
[ Apple TV ] Those of you who use the Remote.app on your iPhone to control your Apple TV content will find an update waiting for you. So far this update seems to be available only through the phones App Store and the one addition to the app was noted as giving the user the ability to “Control your Apple TV with simple finger gestures.” This update does require iPhone OS 3.0. I have yet to test this so if anyone has any insight into what this updated brings feel free to let us know.
Apple Movie Junkie, formerly Apple TV Junkie, is the official blog of Cinemira. We provide a helpful service for users of the iTunes Movie Store and the Apple TV. AMJ was born out of a surprising shortcoming on the Apple TV after noticing that there was no easy way to find a list of all new HD & SD rental titles released on a daily basis. AMJ fills that niche with a daily list of new movies.
