I recently rented Wolverine in HD. The movie froze several times, forcing me to restart the download. (I think the error code was 3285). I went to the discussion boards and saw that others had been experiencing the same problem. I wonder if this update is merely an attempt to better diagnose the issue (and perhaps keep a check on carriers who might try to reduce throughput from their servers while Net Neutrality works itself out).

I’ve tried downloading this update. It starts and eventually says cannot do update at this time, try later. Whats up with this? I’ve tried about 10 times, no luck.

I have been trying to download 2.3.1…My ATV says, No Download Available…Apple TV can’t try right now…check later? Anyone else experiencing?

Okay, so after running the update and also running the network speed test (and answering yes to the question is asks about slow downloads) my download time for an HD rental has been greatly increased. My movie was ready to watch in about 15 seconds where it’s always taken more than 30 minutes before. I have no idea what else this update may have done, but if this is all it did, I’m very pleased with it.

I was expecting it to enable the new iTunes Pass they announced but it doesn’t seem so. Both before and after the update when I try to browse to Depeche Mode’s new single “Wrong” I get the message “The item you’ve requested is not available”. So maybe it’s me who’s wrong!

Even if the network test screen is it, it’s a welcome update to me. I’m finally back to normal with download speeds, but I’m just waiting for it to happen again. Glad to see they’re addressing it.

Looks like they added a network test screen in the network section of settings, to directly address the complaints about slow downloads. This is a good approach to help them get a handle on this insidious issue that I’m quite sure gives them quite a bit of heartburn. Nice to see a creative approach…

this update, as previous ones, removes the added entries for boxee in the menu. repatch-sticking the atv brings all the good back.

Has anyone tried re-instaling Boxee after the update? Does it work anymore? (just wondering if that’s the reason for the update…)

Looks to be a LARGE update on the TOS. Just rented a movie. The TOS is HUGE.

It’s a good idea to turn off auto updates when you have Boxee or other “hacks” installed. I plan to wait until the go ahead from the Boxee community before upgrading.

Well, I’m not sure what, if anything, is new in the update, but it wiped out my Boxee install on the AppleTV.
