The iPod Observer had an interesting post today with their thoughts on the convergence of TV and the Internet. Specifically they raise the point that with no one clear choice in todays market amongst digital solutions such as the Apple TV, Hulu, Netflix, or others, smart young consumers are figuring out away to pick and choose amongst them (See Boxee). And that closed environments such as the Apple TV are in danger of falling away in favor of more open solutions.

Below is the list of new HD Rentals that have been added to Apple TV.

Well, we’ve had a pretty interesting weekend as far as the HD Movie list is concerned. At the end of last week we had a large group of movies removed from the list, but, over the weekend we get 21 new move titles added. And according to our count this bring us up over 700 HD rental titles. But at the current rate at which titles are added and removed this could change daily. Tomorrow we could be back down well under 700. Oh those movie studios.
