My ATV just updated and now does nothing. If you go to the support forums at Apple, you will find a mess of folks that have the same problem. If you have an ATV that was originally a 1.0 you won't be able to rent or anything. I am sure that Apple will fix it, but I am frustrated that my AppleTV is useless for the time being. If true, I think apple has addressed a glaring shortcoming if the device. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any evidence that this us true. I'm hoping that apple hasn't pulled that functionality and simply forgot to amend the copy for the web site.
