I downloaded and installed the latest Alpha version of Boxee last night. I haven’t had a ton of time to work my way through it, but the one feature that intrigues me most about Boxee is the social networking aspect of the media center. The ability to share with your friends what albums you’re listening to, what movies and TV shows you’re watching, send recommendations and more. I posted my thoughts on this not too long ago, but I would love to see this social networking functionality come to the Apple TV. In reality it’s what we’re trying to do here with Apple TV Junkie, and now the podcast, bring our Apple TV community together.
I want to know what you think. Would you like to see Apple bring a social networking aspect to the Apple TV, or could you care less?
Take the poll to the right and or leave your thoughts with a comment.
For anyone interested, be the first to leave a request in the comments, and I’ll email you an invite to Boxee.

9 New SD Releases for today. Again, nothing too exciting. But if you’re into foreign flicks, La Rosa y El Gato (The Rose and The Cat) is the one for you. On the other hand, if you’re more of a Horror hound, then Trapped Ashes might trap you in!

[Engadget HD] Engadget HD is reporting that VUDU has gone live with their 1080p HDX format. VUDU states in their press release that HDX delivers twice the quality available from any Internet or broadcast on-demand service. VUDU is claiming 50 films already in HDX and that every HD title in their catalog will be offered in this format. The one slight drawback would be that you have to wait three to four hours, while they download, before you can begin watching these titles. On the bright side the cost is exactly the same as a regular HD title.
So what do you think, is this something you would like to see Apple offer, a higher quality version of HD titles? Would a higher quality HD rental make a difference to all of the videophiles out there, or is this just a gimmicky selling point for VUDU. Is the quality of the current HD titles which Apple offers sufficient.
