iTunes Remote Control App Coming for iPhone and iPod Touch….Could An Apple TV Version Be Far Behind?

Apple TV and iPhone/iPod Touch users may get their wish after all. MacRumors is reporting that within a Read Me of a pre-release version of iTunes 7.7 we get a hint at a previously unannounced iPhone/iPod Touch app. The Read Me states, “Also use the new Remote application for iPhone or iPod touch to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home — a free download from the App Store.” If an iTunes Remote app is coming, could one for the Apple TV be far behind?

    I just wrote about this on my site, too. I certainly hope there’s an Apple TV version. That would almost make more sense than an iTunes version. (I say almost because I realize that there are more people who own and operate computers with iTunes than people who own Apple TV.)

    I agree. If WIFI can be used to control iTunes on your Mac, then why not let the iPhone use WIFI to control your AppleTV. This is a no-brainer! So let’s hope they’re working on an AppleTV update to make it happen. :)
