Apple Movie Junkie

I’m liking this trend of releasing HD rentals the same day as DVD or download purchase release. Today we get Be Kind Rewind, Chaos Theory, Fool’s Gold and Rails & Ties. Two other titles becoming available as HD rentals are John Carpenter’s Ghosts of Mars and Guns of the Magnificent Seven.

On a side note, it looks as thought the title Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins will become available to rent on July 16th, 2008. It’s unknown whether or not this will be available as an HD rental.

This weeks $.99 movie of the week is The Magnificent Seven.

CrunchGear has an excellent article on the absents of the Apple TV at this year WWDC. I agree with the author that we should not count the Apple TV out just yet. However lets also face one fact; for now the only way to rent HD is to do it from the ATv. It makes me wonder, will Apple release the software to all mac users? There are plenty of people who use a Mac Mini in a home theater setup, and giving them access to rent would no doubt increase the number of people who rent and buy movies. I for one would love to see it more users means more support not only from Apple but Hollywood. Full Story on CrunchGear

It didn’t take long after I started Apple TV Junkie to realize that as the site grew, the need for more resources grew. And sometimes resources cost. I do ask for donations from time to time, and site visitors are free to donate anytime. But, I am sorry to say, those donations have been few and far between. I kind of don’t blame you.
